A guitar and a voice are the only instruments that Madalena Alberto has used to offer a draft of her own compositions that are reunited in an album entitled ‘Foreign Sketches – Live Studio Recording’ that is already available to download and order online on the official website of the artist www.madalenaalberto.com.

Madalena Alberto played the role of Fantine in the acclaimed 25th Anniversary International Tour production of LES MISÉRABLES that finished at London’s Barbican Center last October. With already a large career in musical theatre, she has starred in shows such as FAME (UK Tour), CHICAGO (Kuala Lumpur), ZORRO THE MUSICAL (West End) and OVER THE THRESHOLD (Edinburgh and Off-West End). Madalena Alberto combines her work as an actress with her facet as a composer and performing her own songs.

Her next theatrical project is the new production of GODSPELL that will open at London’s Union Theatre next 15th April directed by Michael Strassen. The show will run at the Union until the 7th May.

In these Foreign Sketches, Madalena expresses universal feelings about emancipation, dreams, drugs, sex, betrayal and jealously, to name a few experiences we all connect with.

Regarding this first album, Madalena says: “Here is the first draft on the selected sketches. Foreign by nature, as is mine, and presented in their rawest form. Blown wide open, letting the stories, emotions, sensations, live through a voice and a guitar. Their blueprints are constantly mutating themselves, choosing new friends, new sounds... But that will be then. This is now.”
